Hello! And welcome to Michael Newman Photography. I’ve been photographing since 2007.  I’ve had the privilege to capture so many beautiful couples and families, many of whom have become friends. 

 I’m a West Virginia boy who found himself in Florida where I met and married a Mississippi girl in 2009. We moved to Mississippi in 2019 to be closer to family. We have been blessed by three very active children!

FAQ

What should I wear?

White and khaki often come to mind when people think of beach portraits but I highly recommend some subtle pops of color.  And you do not all have to match!  Pick one or two complementary colors then have everyone coordinate with different shades and patterns of that color.

How long do photo sessions last?

Generally, sessions last 45 minutes to an hour.  Large groups may need a little more time.   Little ones typically have the shortest time frame so I make sure to photograph them first just in case they can’t make it the full session. 

How do we view our photos? 

After your session, we schedule a reveal session which is done over zoom. This is when you will choose what images to purchase as artwork, album, wall prints, etc.  Digital Files are offered for free with a minimum print purchase or you can buy the files without prints.  Prices vary according to the number of people in your session, so please inquire for more details.    My goal is to help you get the products you want and not waste your vacation time.  Send me a photo of the wall from your home that you want to hang photos on before your session, and I can show you virtually what your order will look like before you purchase. 

If we buy digital files, do we all get a copy?  Can we print them?

Absolutely!  If you have a large group and you want to split the cost of the digital files everyone will receive a copy of those files.  If you decide to purchase the digital files, I will upload the high-res printable images where you can download them to your computer.  No waiting for a disc in the mail and you can share a link with everyone to download at home as well.  You will also receive a limited print release allowing you to print the files for personal use. 

Do you sell prints and canvases?

Yes!  I use high-quality print labs.  These are professionally printed, heirloom-quality, custom-crafted prints that will hang in your home for generations to come.   I can even show you how photos will look on your wall at home if you email me a picture of your wall where you plan to hang photos.  See how it looks scaled to size in your own home before you commit to buy!

What does it cost to reserve my session?  What about rain?

A $250 session fee and signed contract (completed online) are required to book your date.    In the unfortunate event of a rainout on the day of your session, I will attempt to work you in on a different afternoon or a sunrise session.  If that cannot be worked out I will refund your retainer. It is quite common for rain to blow through the day of a session but it doesn’t last!
